Two main support buildings of the Taj Mahal are the mosque (shown left) and the guest house (shown right).

The Taj Mahal complex was constructed using white marble and red sandstone. It is easy to identify which buildings were made of which material.

The main entrance to the Taj Mahal is an elaborately decorated gate building. This structure controls access into the complex and provides a breathtaking view of the Garden of Paradise, the Celestial Pool of Abundance, and the Taj Mahal funerary mosque itself.
